What we make

We make personalized hardcover storybooks from the photos, names and story details you give us. Each book is custom, made from your finished words, a memory or an idea. Before you pay, we draw your child once, free, with up to two redraws. Everyone else in the book is added and drawn after payment.

Price, shipping and delivery

$139 includes your child and up to four other people or pets, and standard US shipping. A book can hold up to 8 people or pets. Each one past the first 5 is $15, chosen and paid for at checkout. Favorite toys in the story do not count as people or pets and cost no extra. The total before tax is $139 for one to five people or pets, $154 for six, $169 for seven and $184 for eight.

Express shipping is a separate $15, shown before you pay. It speeds up shipping after printing. It does not shorten making the book or your approvals. Any sales tax we collect is shown in secure checkout before you pay. Your shipping address and final total are confirmed in secure checkout before payment.

After you approve your book, it’s printed in about 1 to 6 days, then takes 3 to 5 days to reach you in the continental US.

Your approval and changes

You choose the drawing of each person, and approve every page, before the book goes to print. Nothing prints until you approve it.

Before we draw the pages, you can change the words and what each picture will show. Then you approve them.

After the pages are drawn, two rounds of fixes to the pictures are included before you approve the book for print. A round is one set of requests you send together across the book. Picture fixes cover a likeness that is off, a detail you gave us that is missing, color, lighting and other visual mistakes. They do not rewrite the approved story or add pages.

If a picture still needs help after both rounds, contact us before approving it for print. A full refund is available before your book is sent to the printer.

Orders placed under earlier terms keep the change and refund terms they were sold with.

Refunds and reprints

You can get a full refund before your book is sent to the printer. Approving the finished book allows us to send it to the printer, so ask for a refund before approving if you are unsure. After the book is sent to the printer, we cannot refund it because you do not like the approved style or likeness.

If the book arrives damaged or misprinted, send us a photo within 14 days of delivery. We will reprint it free. If two reprints fail, we will give you a full refund.

If you gave us the wrong address, we can reprint the book at cost. If we made the address error, we will reprint it free.

Content rules

We can refuse content that is hateful, sexual, violent, or shows anyone whose permission you do not have. We may also refuse content that is illegal or could put someone at risk.

Your photos and permission

You keep your rights to the photos you upload. You grant us a limited right to use them only to make your book. Before any photo is drawn, you confirm: I have permission to use the photos and likeness of every person pictured. For a child, that permission comes from their parent or guardian. This covers everyone in your photos, adults and children, including anyone you add later. We save the words you agreed to, and when, with your order.

How long we keep files

Unpaid drafts and their files can be deleted seven days after you start them. For paid books, we keep your photos and working files until the book ships. We email you before we delete the working photos, drawings and page pictures. They can be deleted seven days after shipping, and at least 24 hours after that email. If we cannot confirm the shipment or that the email was delivered, we hold the deletion for a person to review. Deletion may happen later than these dates. We keep the final PDF, your approvals and your order records for reorders, support and accounting.
